What Service Is Right For My Mercedes? | A + B Service Explained

Traditionally speaking, Mercedes-Benz vehicles follow two important service schedules: Mercedes-Benz Service A and Mercedes-Benz Service B. These normally are visual prompts on your dash in front of you. Though it may list the services needed, it does not include what each service consists of. If you request immediate service, please contact us at (954) 228-8718 or via email ([email protected])

Differences in Service A vs. Service B

Time intervals remain one of the main differences between Mercedes-Benz Service A vs. Service B, with Service A due after 1 year or 10,000 miles and Service B due after 2 years or 20,000 miles. Once you get past the service intervals, Service A and Service B tasks overlap quite a bit. Still, there are a couple of tasks that are only performed during the Service B interval. At your Service B appointment, your vehicle will receive a brake fluid replacement and a cabin air filter replacement.

Mercedes-Benz Service A Checklist

Due after one year or 10,000 miles, Mercedes-Benz Service A is the first of these two service intervals. Some services can vary depending on the model year, but typically Mercedes-Benz Service A tasks include:

  • All fluid level checks
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter
  • Adhere to all required elements listed by model year and specific model as indicated on the corresponding service sheet for Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Systems in the USA.

Mercedes-Benz Service B Checklist

Carried out at two years or 20,000 miles, Mercedes-Benz Service B covers many of the same tasks as Service A, with a couple of additions. Service B tasks include:

  • Fully Synthetic Engine Oil Replacement
  • Oil Filter Replacement
  • All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s year and model
  • Tire inflation check and correction
  • Brake component inspection
  • Reset maintenance counter
  • Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
  • Brake fluid exchange
  • Adhere to all required elements listed by model year and specific model as indicated on the corresponding service sheet for Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Systems in the USA.
